Idea selection and development of idea

Upon thinking of a few subject matters I have decided to go with a passion that I finally have time to explore again during the long summer break. Motorsport. 

As mentioned previous the subject is very broad so I need to create some sort of action plan to began narrowing down into specific areas within the whole umbrella of Motorsport. 

I will be visiting a few car shows over the summer as well as following the whole summer season of the race event "Time Attack" so I have potential for collecting a vast range of information, photographs and other gatherings. So there are two potential points I could branch off from here already; Show cars & Race cars.

Preliminary Action Plan

To avoid gathering random bits of information, photographs, drawings etc I need to have some sort of purpose as all these events are pre-paid and are at all corners of the country it seems along way to go with no real aim of my intentions. 

To begin with I will start collecting and informing myself on:

• History and information on the Time Attack championship and the British Drift Championship.
• Photographs of Show cars from the car shows I go too.
• Results from Race events.
• Photographs of Race Cars from the Race events I go too.
• I have a ticket for one of the rounds of the BDC (British Drift Championship) so this is another area of car photography and information I can collect.
• Photographs of Race cars and BDC cars in action. 
• Opinions, quotes and one word sum ups of; BDC, Time Attack Racing and Car Shows 

Another thing I want to look into within each area from the BDC, Time Attack racing and Car Shows is the cult following behind them all. Look into peoples opinions on these sports and cultures, the history behind them and what the sports and the shows are really about.

Why I have chose this
I have chose this subject area from my initial bank of ideas based around my interests mainly due to the time it takes to gather such information due to the limited events related to the automotive scene. Having a number of weeks over the summer will allow me to gather a larger bank of research compared to a standard project that would only give me a few weeks to gather research. This will allow me to gather a range of different elements of research about the whole subject and sub trends within certain areas of the car scene. 

The subject of cars is a huge interest to me and as mentioned I have no time to really go to these shows during university time so to base a project around my main hobby is a huge privilege and it will allow me to look deeper into different sectors and educate me on things I didn't know about before, it will also give me the opportunity to create a presentation informing my peers about all the different areas within the automotive scene and how diverse it really can be.
